I MUST Run

Mindanao University of Science and Technology Alumni association in cooperation with Circles Production are hosting the first fun run event for the MUST Intramurals 2013. 'I MUST Run' will be happening on September 22, 2013 and will start at 4:00 in the morning. The venue will be at Provincial Capitol.

Race Categories:
10K - Php 400
5K - Php 300
3K - Php 250

Registrants will all get a race bib, jersey, certificate and freebies.

Campus DevCon at MUST

Campus DevCon at MUSTThere will be a gathering for students, educators and professionals at Mindanao University of Science and Technology on February 26, 2013 at 12:30 PM. This event is called Campus DevCon at MUST which aimed to introduce technology topics from key players of the IT community.

A Campus DevCon has 2 main components:
Lightning Talks (LT)

LTs are very quick presentations delivered with or without auxiliary visual materials. Each speakers has a maximum of 10 minutes to present his idea, including preparation time, self, introduction, Q&A, etc. There are usually 6-8 LTs per Campus DevCon.

Birds of a Feather (BoF)

BoF is an informal debate on tech topics with 3 volunteers from two opposing sides. A BoF panel will judge on who's the best team. Examples of BoF topics are "iOS vs Android", "Does technology improve or harm a person's social life?" and "Windows vs Linux".

The City Tourism Launched ‘Bangga sa Daygon’ & ‘Indigay sa Parol’

The City Tourism Board chaired by Rhia Rita Abalos recently launched the annual Christmas choral competition “Bangga sa Daygon” and the lantern contest “Indigay sa Parol” where a total of P169,000.00 in cash prizes are at stake.

The “Bangga sa Daygon” is open to all glee clubs and choral groups of private and public elementary and high schools in the city.

The contest proper for the elementary category is on December 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the SM City, while the high school category will be held on December 12, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. in Limketkai Center.

Winners in the elementary category will bring home

  • First - Php 25,000

  • Second - Php 20,000

  • Third - Php 15,000

  • Top 12 choral groups will receive P2,000.


High school top three winners will get

  • First - Php 20,000

  • Second - Php 15,000

  • Third - Php 10,000

  • Consolation prize of Php 2,000 for the top 5 choral groups.


The ‘Indigay sa Parol’, which will be held on December 8, 2012 at the Limketkai Center, is open to all students, barangays, schools, groups or individuals in Northern Mindanao.

  • First - Php 15,000

  • Second - Php 10,000

  • Third - Php 5,000

  • 10 Consolation prize of Php 1,000


Indigay sa Parol’s deadline for submission of registration is on November 29, 2012, while Bangga sa Daygon is on December 7, 2012 at the City Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office in City Hall where registration forms are available. (CIO)

PE Rhythmic Dance Competition Winners

Puntod National High School (high Scool category) and West City Central School (Elementary category) bring home Php 50 000 cash and computer sets as the PE Rhythmic Dance Competition Winners, last Saturday at the Pelaez Sports Center. Department of Tourism’s slogan this year is “It’s more fun in the Philippines.” The other winners are:

Basic Mountaineering Course in CDO

Attack CDO will be hosting Basic Mountaineering Course soon at Gardens of Malasag Eco Tourism Village in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City.

Course Description

Basic mountaineering course to introduce leisure activities to the novice mountaineer, along with the basic rudiments and skills of the activity, the course shall stress key concept in fitness and safety.

PE Rhytmis Dance Festival Participating Schools

A special dance showcase presentation of field demo participated in by Physical Education (PE) students from different schools of Cagayan de Oro City on August 25, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the Pelaez Sports Center Complex. With the active involvement and participation of the Misamis Oriental and City Schools Division together with the Department of Education and the Commission on Higher Education in the region, guidelines were created. Participants should be composed of at least 1,000 students per school. Special Awards were also given to deserving groups.
