Our Typical Camiguin Fiesta Delicacies

Every first week of May my mom and I travel to Camiguin. It has been a yearly tradition in the family to celebrate and prepare a food in honor of the Feast of Saint Micheal every May 7 and 8. I didn't accompany my mom this year to Camiguin due to work but my mom sent me food prepared at the fiesta through a relative who came back in Cagayan de Oro right after the feast day. So the following food are the usual Filipino delicacy you will see in the feast table.

Torta Cake
Every fiesta a relative of my mom prepared this and delivered it a day before the feast day. This is bake in the old traditional way using fire from wood on a large brick oven.

Suman
The relative grannies of my lolo cooked and made this. Its actually time consuming and handy cooking this dessert but can be a fun bonding too. I shall write a separate post on this.

Hamonada
This is pork meat marinated over pineapple juice and spices. This is typically prepared in every fiesta because this is perfect for "bring home" for relatives which is traditional practice.
