Coca Cola's 2009 Halika!

The Coca Cola's Halika! Caravan was successful last December 5, 2009 at Parking D, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro. This yearly nationwide charity workout is for the feeding program of the 343 below normal school children of Macabalan Elementary School which was spearheaded by the University of the Philippines Alumni Association-CDO Chapter.
The Halika! Caravan started September 2005 by Coca Cola Philippines. Its a charity workout event that encourage volunteers to take a healthy and active living and donate to charitable causes by going through a physical activity routine developed by Fitness First. Coca Cola matched one peso to every calorie burned during these workouts and donate the total amount to various causes. The charity workout take place in five key cities nationwide among the cities where San Fernando, La Union; Cebu City, Cebu; Bacolod, Negros Occidental; Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental; and Metro Manila. And this year, was the first for Cagayan de Oro to be one of the five cities that support these advocacy.
The event last Saturday was hosted by Wilma Doesnt and DJ Geo of Killer Bee. Among who participated in the workout was University of the Philippines Alumni Association-CDO Chapter, students, different employees of government sectors and Congressman Rufus Rodriguez. For a good cause participants burn a total of 242,367.35 calories. Where Coca Cola Company gets to donate 242,367.35 pesos to the Feeding Program for the Macabalan Elementary School Kids.
